With the current economy, we see more and more people wanting to learn about the highest paid jobs in the US. Although many of these jobs are either dangerous or require special education or training, some do not. Even if some jobs are more specialized, people can always decide to go back to school to earn the degree required for a particular job. Although this list includes just ten of the highest paid jobs in the US, remember that many others exist.

Natural Sciences Manager – With an average salary of $100,000 a year, this type of job is responsible for overseeing work performed by other scientists. Managers often work in municipal organizations, environmental consulting, or the pharmaceutical consulting business. This job requires six years of training and for the big bucks, an MBA, preferably a PhD is required.
Marketing Manager – The second highest paid jobs are marketing managers. In this case, earning a little over $100,000 a year is probable. Training for this is about four years and the job responsibility involves marketing Fortune 500 companies, specific to brand development, public relations, promotional development, financial analysis, and more.
Computer and Information Systems Manager – Making just over $100,000 a year, this is another of the highest paid jobs. Training is between four and eight years at which time the person would be responsible for the company’s information technology direction and strategy specific to IT security, deployment, software selection, compliancy, and more.
Air Traffic Controller – Although the airline industry has been hit hard by the economy, becoming an Air Traffic Controller is still a great job, one that pays around $110,000 annually. This requires nine years of training but in return, people are given the responsibility of getting private and commercial airplanes off and on the ground.

Attorney – This has long been considered among the highest paid jobs in the US with an average annual income of $110,000. Training is about seven years but in return, people can choose the area of practice wanted to include criminal, litigation, business, patents, real estate, family, entertainment, and so on.

Dentist – Another of the highest paid jobs in the US is becoming a dentist and with an annual income around $133,000, the eight years of training pays off. In addition to general dentistry, people could go into a specialized field such as pediatrics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
Pilot – With an average income of $135,000 a year, this is one of the highest paid jobs in the US. Training is between five and ten years but this would allow a person to work as a captain with a respected commercial airline. Other qualifications would be testing aircraft, flying helicopters, traffic monitoring, and aviation director.
Engineering Manager – Next, this job averages $140,000 a year and the primary role is to oversee natural science managers, as well as information systems managers. This job takes about six years of training but engineering managers have plenty of opportunity when it comes to industry choice.
